MISSION STATEMENT OF THE PAY IT FORWARD FOUNDATION:

The Pay It Forward Foundation is committed to helping dogs and cats in need of medical care, medically necessary products/services, and/or food.  Our goal is for no Doggyspace pet to do without medical treatment, other medical needs, or food because their family is facing financial difficulty.
The three Pay It Forward groups - The Chip In Campaign, The Food Pantry, and the Stroller Brigade - are here to help our dog and cat friends in need.

Paws for the Cause Chip in Campaign

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1.  Make a $2 or more donation to the Chip in Campaign using this chip in widget.
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE CONTINUING ~ YOU MUST SEND A PM TO BISKIT and include who you want graphic sent to, from who (your name or Secret Paw) and what graphic you want!  Please don't type your message on the chip in page, as I might not get that in a timely manner!
Note: one personalized graphic will be sent per $2 donation  after your donation is made.

*If you are going to repost this chip in to help out, PLEASE post this statement along with it: This is a repost of the original PAY IT FORWARD group chip in!

STEP 2.
Pick out the special graphic you want to send and see step 3
(don't click on the one you want):

NEW IN MEMORY OF.... GRAPHICS:

Please note ~ I will create memorial graphics upon request, so if you want to send a memorial for a friend and they are not listed below just send me a PM!

For a $2 donation to the chip in campaign, you can send an "IN MEMORY OF" graphic in one of 3 ways:

Option 1: You can make the donation and send the graphic to yourself for posting on your own page.  In this case, the graphic would read "In memory of (Morgan/Ladybug/ etc)...I made a donation to the chip in campaign"

Option 2: You make the donation and send the graphic to a friend.  In this case, the graphic would read "In memory of (Morgan/Ladybug, etc)... Biskit made a donation to the chip in campaign in my* name"  I just used my name in there as an example - it would really have the name of the sender.  *my = the reciever of the graphic

Option 3: You make the donation and send the graphic to either Morgan or Ladybug (or new rainbow bridge dogs as they get added).  In this case, the graphic would read "In memory of (Morgan/Ladybug, etc)... Biskit made a donation to the chip in campaign."  I just used my name in there as an example - it would really have the name of the sender.

Choose ~

Apollo Schultz, Morgan, Ladybug, Max, Missydog or
 Pepsi, Precious, or Pinky

While we would love to be able to help the families of our friends in need, our focus is on the pets.  We believe that by helping with the medical needs and food, we are helping the families to be able to stretch their financial resources further.

This page is the Headquarters for the Chip In Campaign run by:

 Bailey,BiskitEinstein, Max, and Pokey.

CHIP IN CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES:

1. Nominees must be a member in good standing on Doggyspace for at least 6 months in
order to be considered for a chip in.  If a dog or cat deletes their profile and rejoins, the 6 months will start over.

2. Each dog or cat will be eligible for a chip in only once every 6 months. For families with multiple pets, a chip in will be allowed for each pet in the family once every six months provided it meets all the chip in guidelines.

3. Nominations should be sent by Private Message on Doggyspace to one of the admins
(Bailey, Biskit, Einstein, Max, or Pokey).  You can click on their pictures above to send them a message. Please clearly explain why there is a financial and medical need.  Please make sure there is no other way to get funds (relatives, etc) so that dogs or cats who are the most in need can get help.

4. Payments will be made only for medical care and services essential to the well being
and direct care of the pet.  Proof of vet bills and contact information for the vet is a requirement.  There must be a legitimate medical need for the procedures or services in order to be approved by the chip in admins.

5. We will raise only the amount of debt owed to the vet according to the bills that the candidate has provided and any surplus will be rolled into another chip in or to the Food
Pantry.

6. We require that all donations go through the chip in administrator who is running the chip in.  If a donor doesn't want to donate using their credit or debit card through the chip in, they can send a check to the dog running the chip in.  The administrator will then forward any checks along with the chip in funds on to the recipient when the necessary funds are raised.  We will not be held responsible for the use of any money that is sent directly to the family.

7. We formed this committee for the security of the Chip ins and so donors would have
reassurance that their money was being used for a real need.  All cases are investigated and verified by the admins before a chip in is approved.  All cases go up for a vote by the chip in admins and the majority vote wins.  We have copies of the bills that are being paid for all ongoing chip ins and they can be provided at the donor's request.  Any chip in not run by one of the chip in admins ~ Bailey, Biskit, Einstein, Max, or Pokey ~ has not been investigated and verified by the Pay It Forward Foundation, so if you donate to those chip ins you are doing so at your own risk.

8. If you are the recipient of a chip in, please remember to thank your donors using the contributors list that will be sent along with your funds
.  The list contains the e-mail addresses of the donors, so you can thank them by e-mail - its free and easy!

9. If you are experiencing need that does not fall into the Chip in campaign guidelines,
please remember that the Food Pantry and Stroller Brigade are available. At the bottom of the page is a list of other resources that may be able to help your family.  Some are for help with pet needs and some are for help with family financial problems.

Please keep all these pups and their families in your prayers.

HERE ARE THE CURRENT CHIP INS.  Please help if you can.

CHIP IN FOR DAISY MAY:

Daisy was hit by a car at the beginning of August and she spent 9 days at the vet hospital. Since then, she has been back once and had to spend a few more days.  Her family has run up a large vet bill and it probably isn't over yet!  If you can help Daisy with her vet bills, please chip in!

*If you are going to repost this chip in to help out, PLEASE post this statement along with it:  This is a repost of the original PAY IT FORWARD group chip in!

CHIP IN FOR MEGAN

Our furiend Megan (http://www.doggyspace.com/profile/27278) has been nominated for a ChipIn by a Doggyspace furiend and the Pay It Forward Foundation admins looked at her situation and feel that we can help our dear furiend, so we created the ChipIn. Megan is blind from diabetes and she also has Cushings disease. She needs surgery on her eyes that could help restore her sight (similar to the surgery that Fonzie had). Her mom already has a huge vet bill due to the medications that Megan needs to take and tests that she has to undergo every few months for her Cushings. The surgery will be postponed because they can't afford it at this time. The $3300 that we are trying to raise through the ChipIn is the estimated cost of Megan's surgery. We have copies of her current vet bills and we have also been in contact with her vet. Any amount that you can give to help our fellow doggie in need will be appreciated.

*If you are going to repost this chip in to help out, PLEASE post this statement along with it:  This is a repost of the original PAY IT FORWARD group chip in!

Chip In For Rusty

Rusty has developed "cherry eye". Cherry eye is where the inner eyelid gets inflamed. Rusty is the adorable guy below. If you can spare any amount, $1, $2, $5, to help this family get the surgery he needs. The family is experiencing financial difficulties, so we want to help them out.

Here is the description of "Cherry eye"

The medical term for 'cherry eye' is nictitans gland prolapse, or prolapse of the gland of the third eyelid. Unlike people, dogs have a 'third eyelid' that contains a tear gland and is located in the corner of each eye. Under normal circumstances, this gland is not visible and aids in the production of tears. For some reason, which is not completely understood, the gland of the third eyelid prolapses or comes out of its normal position and swells creating the condition known as cherry eye.

*If you are going to repost this chip in to help out, PLEASE post this statement along with it:  This is a repost of the original PAY IT FORWARD group chip in!

Pay It Forward Doggy Food Pantry:  This program isto help families that are going through some tough times and need dog food in their bowls.   A gift certificate or gift card to a Pet store will be given to the recipient.   Must fall under the Dog Food Pantry Guidelines.

The following is a list of organizations that provide financial assistance to pet owners in need. Please keep in mind that each organization is independent and has their own set of rules and guidelines. Therefore you will have to investigate each one separately to determine if you qualify for assistance:
