blurbMy name is Jake and I am quite the rake*!
Ms Paula rescued me from a kill shelter in Alabama by having me flown to NC. Since Pepper had recently gone to the Bridge, Ms Paula asked my mom and her friend to foster me. Flying was quite an experience and when I got off the plane I went straight to the home of Max, the Great Dane. Meeting Max was quite an experience also. Initially I was a bit wary of him but he was a gentle giant and we got to be friends quickly. At first we played a lot but after a few months, Max's leg got sore and we didn't play that much. I loved to cuddle with Max on his bed when I could.
Oh ... I'm probably about a year old now but the date on my profile is my "gotcha date" and for me it's the most important date of all.
Fortunately for me, the three cats that were already part of the family have accepted me. BOL

about meI am a major waggbutt. I am cheerful most of the time except I do NOT like the vacuum and I do anything I can to get away from it. One of my favorite things to do is take walks and if I am lucky, I get to make the geese that hang out by the pond near us, take off . I'm also quite adept at running the squirrels away from the bird feeder and one day I sure hope to catch one. Max taught me well and I am a well behaved doggy who is a good watch dog. I miss Max and I hope that his friends will also be my friends.

My secret Paw sent me awesome Spring gifts. This is the first one I opened and I was so excited that mom had trouble getting a good picture. I love this one and I think that mom should go outside and throw this one for me to fetch. Mom says no! Hi sweetheart, I'm doing okay. Moms pet sitting till Sunday which is good for her. She feels really good to get some work when she hasn't had any work. The next month is good and July is even better. We had over a month of mom and me time and she just got down and thought she was a failure, she couldn't help it. I'm doing the smile thing and hug thing. She gives good hugs but yours are better I think cause you're my super handsome mandog and she understands that. So anyway, I hope you have a good weekend with mom and Richard. Hugs all around my love.

Thanks for the compliment Jake. Mum put my winter coat out under the willow tree for the birdies to build nests with. mum says their nests will be nice and warm for the baby birds cause baby birds are born naked and take a while to get their feathers and of course that pesky squirrel that's in the tree uses some too

Hi sweetheart. I did have a good weekend. Now mom doesn't pet sit till the 16th, so we've been having a blast. Today she finished up a order of apple treats for the 3 t's. tomorrow she said she was going to try the coconut flakes to see how they turn out. I'm ready for our cuddle time.

BOL Mommy's Angel Penny (the dachshund that made Mommy certain she'd never have another dog buy a dachshund) was the QUEEN of spoiled Diva's, She would not walk in the rain. Period! She would walk a few steps and try and shake the rain off her coat. Walk a few more steps and try and shake the rain off her coat. Now Mommy found this out in the middle of a downpour where Mommy had walked to the END of our 1 mile driveway. (It started raining before we could get back) Sooo Mommy had to pick Penny up and carry her lard butt (she weighed 15 lbs) and carry her 1 mile to the house. BOL Little me I don't care. Rain, sleet, snow, hurricane winds it doesn't bother me at all. I just want to go out and sniffy sniff for critters and see what's going on. Hi sweetheart, (blush, blush) I am going to have a very relaxing weekend while mom pet sits till Sunday so it's not so bad. Will you be able to go on a hike or lake to run and play. I don't think it make to much difference weather it's a park or lake as long as we are with our pawrents, that keeps everybody happy. Mom always say, we're in no rush Hannah it's just you and me. HI MR ROMANTIC...You just know the right things to bark and make me blush. I am very lucky to call you my guy....woo hoo, I am one happy diva doggy. I got to chase one lizard today but it's getting hot now. It was 91 today but we has a cool breeze so it didn't feel so bad but I still like the A/C on. Mom said soon I will get my summer cut maybe in a few weeks. Well I'm going to sleep now and think of you.

Jake. There were 5 bunnies. Jezzabelle only 'hurt one' of them. Mom took the rest to a wildlife rehab. They are fine...it was 2 weeks today. Cool huh? Mom was so surprised that Jezzabelle even got that close to them. She's never hurt anything but fly's around here. (Now the bird WAS only here over night. Mom felt that he might not make it and didn't want the other bird to peck at him or for him to be frightened & alone that night (it stormed). So she brought him inside. He was safe and warm, in a clean bed. He prob passed away in his sleep. Thanks for
