What is THAT?

Today there was something going on that I'd never paid much attention to before. There is this kind of a hole in our wall. Today I noticed that Mom put a big stick in there and pretty soon there was all this warm air coming out of it..I kept going over and sticking my nose close to this screen thing that was in front of it and my nose got nice and warm. It was kind of orange and red and kept moving. If anyone knows what was going on, please let me know if I should get closer or even try to get in there and stop it from jumping around!

We have one of those, but its not in the wall. It stands in the corner of the room on a little brick platform. You can lay in front of it like I love to do, but don't stick your nose in or you will be sorry!

uumm. we're not sure but my friend Tabatha has a hole in the wall with wood in it...but it's never warm when we see it!

Owwww, Cooper, I'd not get any closer than warming your nose. That sounds an awful lot like a fireplace and that can git powerful hot. I heard tell that a pup that gits to close might could set himself on fire. I think you might like laying down on the hearth and taking a little nap. Yor friend, Fonzie

Cooper the closest thing that sounds like to us here in Florida is a barbecue but it's not in our wall. Maybe you should try roasting marshmallows over it. I'm sure your mommy won't mind. If you learn more, let the lambies know. Love ya.

I am used to it now....Sparkles used to love laying by the fire...Mom would have to be careful so sparks wouldn't get her fur. She had a pad that she wanted right in front of the fireplace, and would move it there if we tried to move it anywhere else! BOL. Maya sees ghost-dogs in the glass. She thinks another dog lives in there. But she likes the warmth coming from there and so do I! I love it 'cause Mom and Boy sit in there and we get LOTS of petting when they do that! DON'T get too close to it though....it could burn your nose!

I remember when we had one of those. I would try to stand as close as I could and mom would worry because I liked for my fur to get really hot before I would move. I absolutely loved ours because I loved to be warm. Just be careful about getting too close!

Don't get too close buddy, that's FIRE!! Mom wants a fireplace, but right now we don't have one. We know what it is because we have campfires outside during the summer evenings!! Have you ever tried a toasted marshmallow? They are SOOO good, but really sticky! I end up licking my lips for a long time to clean the stickiness off my fur around my mouth! Mom and Dad think it's really funny, but I just think it's the price I have to pay for a yummy treat! BOL

We don't want you to turn into a hot dog Cooper so keep a safe distance but enjoy!!
