APB: Dog found shot dead in dumpster

Wixom Police is looking for the person [monster] who shot a dog several times in the head, wrapped it in a black plastic trash bag and put it in an apartment complex Dumpster in Wixom Michigan.
The dog is a mixed small black German shepherd according to Wixom Police Sgt. Gary Hamlin.
The police where notified after a passerby heard a dog whimpering and investigated.
On further investigation the police found the dog had been shot 5 or 6 times in the head with a high-powered pellet gun, but was still alive.
The dog was at least 10 years old and had several large tumors on its neck, said Sgt. Hamlin.
It looks like the owner could have been trying to put it down… According to Sgt Hamlin, It’s either a case of animal cruelty or extreme stupidity.
He also added "We have no idea who shot the dog", and the Police said they want to talk to the dog's owner.
It was found at The Village Apartments near Pontiac Trail and Beck Road Saturday.

That poor doggy! I would hate to think the owner did this! I think paying fur the dog to be euthanized would have been cheaper than the trouble this will bring! It never ceases to amaze me the things that some people do! We hope the doggy survives and who ever did this is prosecuted fur it! So very sad fur that baby!

momma was surprised to see this happened in michigan...she thought it would be somewhere in the south where it is open game on shooting dogs. it is possible that the owner was trying to find a cheap way to euthanize his old dog. vets charge a small fortune to put a pet to sleep and in this economy people cannot afford to pay 500 dollars in some places to euthanize and dispose. it is a sad fact of life that vets are in it for the business, and very few of them will give a break or time payments for this kind of service. puppy
