My 1 year bridge anniversary

Tomorrow will be one year that I went to the bridge. I miss my Mommy sooooo much. I know how much she misses me. I want to thank my doggie sisters for helping her this year. After I left it was Annie who helped her as I knew she would. She was great for Mommy after my brother Ed went to the bridge. Then came Blossom into her life 6 weeks later. It was a rough start with Annie but I knew Mommy could make them like each other. I had a hand in picking out Blossom as the dog who would help her. Mommy says Blossom must be my daughter (even though she is not - I was fixed at 6 months). She acts and looks so much like me - but just much bigger! I told her what Mommy likes - what I used to do to make her happy - and she does the same things. Mommy feels like she has a piece of me with Blossom. Thank you my sisters for taking care of Mommy who I love more than anyone in the entire world. As for my new brother Wishbone, the timing was perfect to distract Mommy. She loves helping people and dogs. You are so much like Ed and that makes me so happy because Ed was Daddy's dog and you are as much like Ed as Blossom is like me (except Ed was a shepherd). Mommy bought a special ring which she will journal about that has my paw prints on it. The ring arrived today and I saw her cry. Also, thank you all DS dogs who have helped my Mommy out this year. Dakota....we miss you. Mommy must know you are always beside her even if she can't see you, sweetie. Who could ever forget your darling hound face? We are sure Wishbone will be a great help to her, as are Annie and Blossom. Stay in touch with all of us from the bridge and don't worry...we'll try to help Mommy not to be too sad.

We never knew you Dakota, but we heard you were a good friend of Chauncey's - and we think that you had a lot to do with keeping Wishbone safe until he could make it to NH and his new home. Someday, a long time from now it will be a privilege to meet you.

Angel Dakota, we know how hard it is for your mom right now--the first anniversary of you going to the Bridge. We think you're right--the timing of Wishbone coming to live with your mom helped distract her (a little)--she probably needed that right now. You will FOREVER be in her heart and she KNOWS you watch over her every day. We hear from our Angel Chance that you are like a puppy again as all the Angels at the Bridge are--we're sure your mommy is happy about that. We will look for the picture or/and journal of the ring your mom bought with your footprints on it. Our mom has one with Angel Chance's (and really for all her past doggies) prints on it--maybe it's similar??
