about meOn 2/20/09, our dear sweet Mia passed away. We were with her as she suddendly went peacefully on her own. The three of us are very grateful for the loving and kind friends we have met on doggyspace. Mia is with her big brother Mario and most likely riding around with Grandpa on a motorcycle.

Hi there. My name is Mia. I am 10 year old English Bulldog. I am also a survivor!
I started off a hardknock life and at about 2 years old I was found a stray with eye problems, loaded with ticks, bad skin and hair, and a fresh scar from a c-section. I was being used to produce litters. I'm not sure if I escaped or was dumped off but lived the hot streets of Miami, FL starving until picked up by the pound. Facing Euthanasia, a bulldog rescue saved me and took me in where I received the care and surgery I needed. Shortly later, I was adopted and came home to my Forever Home to celebrate my 'first' Christmas (and my first snow!). That was 8 years ago! I've been spoiled rotten since and living a life I could only dream of before.
Less than a year ago I was diagnosed with mammary cancer. I have a very aggressive high grade malignancy. Luckily Mom found a lump very early on. I've had two tumors removed and have gone through two protocols of chemotherapy. I am now on a holistic homemade diet with lots of supplements (or 'magic potions' as Mom calls them). As I earlier said, I am a survivor and intend to beat this too!
Just a few of my Accomplishments or Talents:
1. Traveled 22 states and lived in 4 (Florida, Ohio, Kansas, and now Pennsylvania)
2. Have an internal alarm clock and know when it is Breakfast and Dinnertime
3. Great Dancer; I have a wiggle, a jiggle, and a shake like none other
4. Won first prize in several costume contests and qualified for a pageant
5. Have my Mom and Dad wrapped around my paw (and my Grandmas too)!

Thanks so much for the special Birthday wishes! My Mom and Dad were so sad this weekend but the well-wishes from my doggyspace friends reminded them of how wonderful you all are! I have such great friends! Me and my family and doggyspace friends here in heaven enjoyed a big celebration . . . even bigger than the one that Mom/Dad had for me for my 10th Birthday last year and

We dogs named after Pens players gotta stick together! (in reference to your brother)! BOL. Anyway, it'll be fun! I overheard my parents say that they would also like to see how your party goes at Animal Friends since they want to have a 2nd b-day party for me in February! It might be a good place to have it, or we might just have a party at home or one of my grandparents' houses. We'll see. Plenty of time..

Hey Mia, I know my mommy at the party was having a pretty hard time. Everyone was so nice though and they helped out a lot. I know its so hard when our pawrents lose us but we are still always with them. I would absolutely love to go for a ride. I LOVE rides. Mommy is excited because my new little sister is home and yes, her name is Mia too
