blurbWow! We've got a ton of snow now. I don't like the wind so much but it's fun times romping in the snowbanks!
about meI'm a handsome chocolate labrador retriever. My new family brought me home at the end of March 2007. I spent my first few weeks adjusting to my new friends (cats Luna & Solera) and romping in the snow that fell soon after my arrival. One of my pictures is of me and my Solera - she was trying to scare me I think. She didn't know I was already scared. :)
I'm now a year and a half old and I love my life. I get to play in the snow in the winter, and in the summer I get regular visits to the lake. I lost my original favorite toy in my friend Otter's pond but I got a new one for Christmas (from my fairy godmother). :)
I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last fall. Fortunately, I do not yet have any arthritis and my family is doing all they can to make sure I have a long, comfortable life. I enjoy swimming, chasing my cats (playfully), and playing ball. I make friends easily and I love being the center of attention. Even people who don't really like dogs enjoy my company.
My people say I'm spoiled, but I know I'm just getting all that I deserve. I get to sleep on the bed at night, sometimes cuddling with my sister Luna. My sister Solera doesn't really like me around her too much but I don't know why. I get regular treats, but not too many - the vet's said I need to stay between 60-65 pounds. Since one of my favorite things to do is eat I'm not sure what to make of this advice.

Oh I am so depressed! I got a lot of cool things for Christmas from Santa Paws, but in the process I have lost my blue ball. Mom thinks I may have left it outside and now it's buried under all the snow.....I just don't know! I've been moping around the house for days now. Mom & Dad even let me destroy my new training bumper in hopes it would make me feel better. I...

Hi Sebastian; thanks for stopping by. I'm doing better these last couple of days. No indoor accidents & I only fell once today on the kitchen floor. I've been happy, too, because just me & Mom were home today. That annoying Cocoa was out with Dad & Alex ice fishing or some such thing out in the cold. Yes the cold has been BAD for me. Especially the snow piles out back. Do u have alot of snow in your yard too?

Hi Sebastian; yep it's getting colder. Mom says it's in the 40's during the day & 20's at night. So far, no real snow (except for that day in early October). I'm glad of that. Mom wants snow, but I sure don't. Has your mom gone back to work yet? Mine did last week. She wishes she'd get paid time off and never have to go back. I wish she'd would too. But then she couldn't afford my medicine & dog food. Anyway, take it easy. Happy paws, Tanner

Hi my handsome doggy; yes it's a sad state of affairs, but seems as though getting old, whether doggy or human, is a bad experience. I just hope Tanner can get thru to Spring, when the warm weather will restore his happiness. My mom said that he's hardly on his bed anymore these days because it's difficult for him to get himself positioned 'just right' and getting up out of it is worse somehow. Mom's giving Tanner Deramaxx and that does help. It's his heart and breathing that worries us the most at the moment. Thanks for your support, my handsome Sebastian. Kissins, Cocoa Puff
