Hi, my name is Lou and I'm a 13" tri-colored beagle and that's my brother, Jimmy on the right, who is also a 13" tri-colored (actually 4 because he's gray, too). We live in Minnesota with our 2 other brothers; another beagle and a Treeing Walker Coonhound, Captain. My older brother, Hoppy, a beagle, thinks he's the alpha dog. All of us are adopted and love each other very much! And, we also have a cousin, Fletcher, who is a boxer/mix who comes to visit during the summer from Arizona! He's also a rescue but is only about 2 years old and is very annoying at times! All he wants to do is play and run and bugs us sometimes! You can see from the pictures that all in all, he's pretty cool! Lou is about 4 years old and Jimmy is about 11. Since we don't have definite birth dates, our mom thought it would be fun to give Lou a special date so she made his birthdate on Saint Patrick's Day! Jimmy gets to have the same date because he was found in March.

As you can see, we went trick or treating this Halloween! See our pictures! The other two brothers wanted no part of any costumes! They thought it was bad enough when our mom made us all wear raindeer antlers for a Christmas photo! They were mortified! My mom finally figured out a way for Jimmy to be on doggyspace too. The site only allows 3 dogs so she decided, since Lou is the most easy going, he could share his site.

We don't know much about Jimmy. Our mom found him running near the desert in AZ. She posted notices, called all the vets within 25 miles but no response so he become the latest member of our family! He's pretty old, too. Maybe around 11. He has really bad allergies so he needs special food and meds (just what our mom needed...another special needs Beagle) and has a heart murmur but he still loves to run and play! Mom says we keep him young! So, that's Jimmy's story!

Lou loves to spend hours and hours sitting under a big tree at our cabin and wait for any stupid squirrel to come down. So far his luck hasn't been very good! But, like a true beagle, the hunt is not over by any means!

Lou came to live with his mom and brothers in a very strange way...our mom was at PETCO about 3 years ago and saw him with his than owners. She stopped to talk to the little Beagle (his name was Spike then...ugh!) and told the owners that she had beagles and if they ever had any questions that they could call her. She gave them her number. A year later, she received a call from the people that said they just didn't want Lou anymore and would she be interested in taking him. Of course she would!

When Lou arrived, he was very sick. The previous people were not very nice to him. They kept him in a kennel/doghouse all year long; even in 20 below zero weather! he was covered with fleas and ticks and had a tapeworm from all the flea infestation. Our mom took him to the vet and he fully recovered. He has a medical disorder called PICA that makes him want to eat non-food things. The first month he was at his new home, He ate a fiber rug. He had to be rushed to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital for emergency surgery. The rug fibers were twisted in his intestines. He has a lot of scar tissue and needs to be on low residue food and medication but he's the happiest little guy you have ever seen! Our mom calls him her little circus beagle because he's always jumping and dancing around. And, she says he's the smartest and most polite of the brothers! Of course she doesn't let the others hear! Lou must have been very cold in his past life because he always wants to lay in the sun and sleep all covered up in his blanket. He gets underneath it by throwing it around until it lands on his head! Quite the ordeal every night! Lou has a girlfriend, Stella, who lives down the street.

Jimmy is the most vocal...he's always howling to make his presence known or if it's feeding time he starts in...when our mom scolds him, he runs into his kennel and whines!  He acts so pathetic!  Usually works on our mom!  She's a softy!
