Hi, I'm new here.  My name is Shadrack.  Does anyone want to be my friend?

about me

Hi!  I am a Dalmatian.  My name is Shadrack but you can call me Shad.  I am 13 (getting older, I know) and live in Florida with my family who I love very much.

I am a food guy, as are most of you I am sure.  I know quite a few "tricks" as they call them.  I can "sit", "down", "stay", "come", "nose down" (where I am laying down and put my head down on the floor), raise my front paws up in the air, "shake" (where I shake your hand), and "which paw?" (where you have food in one of your hands, put your hands behind your back and put the piece of food in whatever hand you decide, then bring your closed hands back out with the piece of food in one of your hands and I have to guess which paw (or hand) the food is in by putting my paw on one of your hands.  I am very good at this!).

I am a friendly guy and not like a lot of Dals that I hear about who can be aggressive with stangers or overly hyper.  I have never been too hyper, I am more of an easy going kind of guy.  I try to stay out of trouble as much as possible also.  I don't bark a lot, I don't get into things I'm not supposed to (unless you leave a loaf of bread too close to the edge of the counter, but I honestly thought it was for me until I got yelled at for it).  Overall I believe I am a pretty decent dog.  I try my best at least.  I really thought that bread was for me... And yes, I do beg at the table sometimes, but they're eating right in front of me!  I can't help that!

Although I am older (I am 13) and it would be difficult for me, I sure do wish my people would take me on errands sometimes. I hate being left alone at the house. I feel like I never get to go out anymore. They took me to the dog park a few weeks ago and that was nice.     Hi Shadrack; it's a honor to be your friend. Thanks for that. I didn't realize how close we are in age; I'm 14. How's everything for u? I have quite a bit of health problems but I'm working thru it. I just don't want to go to Rainbow Bridge quite yet. Winter, though, is coming and that's always hard on me.
