blurb

Hi Everybody!

My name is Egon and I was adopted last June by a couple of primates (monkeys, really) in Chicago who love me very much. I enjoy running on the beach, hiding under the table, defending the yard from pesky squirrels and trying to eat bugs. My monkeys were told that I am part German Sheperd and part Siberian Husky although other primates frequently tell them I look like a coyote, an arctic wolf, a jackal and other ferocious wild things. Grrrr.

But I'm a sweetheart. Really. All I ask is that you tell me how pretty I am.  Especially if you come to the door in a UPS uniform.

Thanks,
Egon

about me

I don't know where I was born or where I spent my formative year or even what my first name was. I was taken to an animal shelter in the Western suburbs when I was about a year and a half. While  I was there, they called me Brody and they gave me a test to see how ferocious I was. They put premium dog food in a bowl and poked me in the face while i tried to eat it. Hmph! That made me mad. So I had to leave the shelter. Hmph, I say.

The shelter turned me over to a nearby animal hospital. I lived at the home of one of the hospital's technicians for a month. He was the one that first gave me the name Egon. He and I really, really liked it.  But his girlfriend thought that Egon was a silly, stupid, goofy name and they called me Oden instead.

I must have been too much dog, because after a while, i had to go and live at the animal hospital. The technician put an ad up on Craigslist that said I was free to a good home because I was so ill mannered and poorly bred. The ad stayed up on Craigslist for two whole months even though there were five gorgeous pictures of me and I was smiling my biggest in every single one!

My monkeys found my pictures and looked at them every day for two weeks. They drove all the way out to the suburbs to come and visit me. I was so cute and so sweet that when my technician offered to let me visit them at their house for two weeks, they said yes and took me home.

As soon as I saw my new place, I took a big sniff of the city air and streched out in the sunshine. One of my monkeys told my other monkey that that I knew I was home. And she was right. I have never been ill mannered to any monkey or unfriendly to any dog since.

My passions in life include trips to the dog park, homemade dried chicken liver, begging for spicy food and of course rigorous play sessions with any high spirited dog.  Someday, I dream of having bunny, squirrel, kitty and chipmonk friends, but none seem to respond to my best play bow.

Thanks for visiting my page and a big "Wolf-come" to you all! And the name is EGON . . . Thx.
