Hi Everybody!
My name is Egon and I was adopted last June by a couple of primates (monkeys, really) in Chicago who love me very much. I enjoy running on the beach, hiding under the table, defending the yard from pesky squirrels and trying to eat bugs. My monkeys were told that I am part German Sheperd and part Siberian Husky although other primates frequently tell them I look like a coyote, an arctic wolf, a jackal and other ferocious wild things. Grrrr.
But I'm a sweetheart. Really. All I ask is that you tell me how pretty I am. Especially if you come to the door in a UPS uniform.
Thanks,
Egon
I don't know where I was born or where I spent my formative year or even what my first name was. I was taken to an animal shelter in the Western suburbs when I was about a year and a half. While I was there, they called me Brody and they gave me a test to see how ferocious I was. They put premium dog food in a bowl and poked me in the face while i tried to eat it. Hmph! That made me mad. So I had to leave the shelter. Hmph, I say.
The shelter turned me over to a nearby animal hospital. I lived at the home of one of the hospital's technicians for a month. He was the one that first gave me the name Egon. He and I really, really liked it. But his girlfriend thought that Egon was a silly, stupid, goofy name and they called me Oden instead.
I must have been too much dog, because after a while, i had to go and live at the animal hospital. The technician put an ad up on Craigslist that said I was free to a good home because I was so ill mannered and poorly bred. The ad stayed up on Craigslist for two whole months even though there were five gorgeous pictures of me and I was smiling my biggest in every single one!
My monkeys found my pictures and looked at them every day for two weeks. They drove all the way out to the suburbs to come and visit me. I was so cute and so sweet that when my technician offered to let me visit them at their house for two weeks, they said yes and took me home.
As soon as I saw my new place, I took a big sniff of the city air and streched out in the sunshine. One of my monkeys told my other monkey that that I knew I was home. And she was right. I have never been ill mannered to any monkey or unfriendly to any dog since.
My passions in life include trips to the dog park, homemade dried chicken liver, begging for spicy food and of course rigorous play sessions with any high spirited dog. Someday, I dream of having bunny, squirrel, kitty and chipmonk friends, but none seem to respond to my best play bow.
Thanks for visiting my page and a big "Wolf-come" to you all! And the name is EGON . . . Thx.

Hey Egon: we tried to bark the other day, but Mom's browser was acting funny so now we are trying again. I am currently about 20 pounds...Mom thinks I will be bigger than Jeni when I get all grown up (Jeni is 26 pounds...) and a little taller. Some Shibas get to about 30, but the standard for the breed is around 22 (Jeni is fat! BOL!) Right now, I am taller than she is. The reason Mom thinks you may have Shiba is your talking. We do that. We have our own language and it takes a while, but there are communicative sounds that emerge. Jeni says "Out" and "I love you" and "MOOOOOM!" And also scolds me sometimes....We coo and almost purr so Mom recognizes what you are saying. Maybe not Shiba since you are definately bigger than us, but perhaps Jindo. It is a similar cousin to us. Thank you for being our friend!

Hey there Egon...I think I'm IN love here.
You sooooooooo handsome!!!! You LOOK like you could be viticious but I know you wouldn't be with me...you would protect me. Wish you lived closer. Any plans of moving the monkeys to Seattle??

Wow! What an amazing story you have. We are so glad that you found a great home! Whatever type of dog you are, my Mom says you are very very handsome.

Hey Egon! Thanks for adding me! I love your story, and I'm so glad that you've found your forever home. Also, you have a very cool look. I think you look a little bit like me. But that would make sense, since most people who are unfamiliar with my breed ask if I'm a German Shepherd- Siberian Husky mix! BOL!

Egon....you look like you have Jindo or Shiba in you! It would seem you have a Shiba friend too. The 'tell' is the play bow....Mom has never seen a husky do that too low....you also have the facial markings of a Shiba which could easily be mistaken for a hybred. We have a lot of squirrels in our yard too. I LOVE to play! Who is your Shiba friend?

Egon, you are a very handsome fella! My mama was told that I am part German Sheppard and part Husky too although she doesn't really believe it since I'm only about 30 lbs. Your monkeys sound like wonderful people! My mama found me on the side of the road when I was only a couple of weeks old and we've been together ever since :) It's like you and I are kindred spirits, just like in Anne of Green Gables! Hope you have a wond-arf-ful New Year! Love and Licks, MacyMoo

Hi EGON!!! My very first DS friend!!! Great to hear from you! Well, here's what the peeps bring for me specifically. We tent camp, so we have a large tent. My bed comes with, and an unbreakable water bowl. Mom cooks for me, so she brings tupperware containers with my food, plus some frozen chopped up raw steak in case I'm finicky. I have a 20 ft. bicycle type lock up rope and one of those things that screw into the ground. Mom always brings some kind of spray on fly repellent. Oh, and a towel for me just in case. That's it, I think. So, how are you old friend??? Luv Ya!

Thanks Egon. I live in Enid, Oklahoma. we are getting ready for the big air show. Mom likes to watch the Blue Angels fly but I just go to try and pee on the airplane tires when mom's not looking. Yes my mom is getting married in Dec. this is her last year of college. Then Tim, mom and I will be moving to Florida where mom has a job waiting on her. I will be sad to leave gramaw cause I've lived with her my whole life but mom says every chick has to fly the coop sometime.

Hi Egon, How are you? Mom is so busy this summer she can't take a vacation so she decided we would take a virtual vacation here on doggyspace. We want to go to as many places as we can. Mom said she thinks we can travel 200 thousand miles this summer. I think she's nuts but I'm up for her game. Mom would like to know where in the Illinois you live so she can put down how many miles we traveled to see you. Bol...yes now I know she's nuts. I have brought a ball so we can play a little bit and if you don't mind please tell mom one thing she can do while we are there
