about me

We decided that mom won't let us on the computer long enough for two profiles so here is a combination one.

I'm a five year old Hungarian herding dog.  My breed is new to the US less than 100 so far.  In Hungary, we herd cattle.  I know you are thinking I am small to herd cattle but they move when you are at their heels.  I went and herded some sheep and that was one fun day. 
I wasn't socialized with people when I was young so I am extremely shy.  I love my mom and will let her do anything but I am afraid of most people(except Erika).  My mom is trying to help me adjust by putting me on Reconcile and teaching me new things in dog training classes.  I am getting a little better.  But I still don't really like people to touch me. 
I really like other dogs.  Sometimes I don't know how to show them that. I like them so I bark.  My mom says that isn't the way to show I'm friendly. 
I have a girlfriend, Lali, a Spanish Water Dog.  I  also like Tiger, who belongs to Erika.  Erika takes care of me when my mom and dad have to leave town.

Now about Farfel.  I am a 5 months old  Protuguese Water Dog and new to the house. I was born on Feb. 7, 2009.   I have been here for 3 months and doing pretty well.  Mom and dad are nice but Rags is the best.  He plays with me and lets me play with the toys even his.  My kennel name is Glenwood's Amigo Valentine but my parents call me Farfel. 

I'm a enjoying learning all these new things.  I am learning to sit and stay.  I already know what "watch me" means and I sit when my mom gives me a hand signal.  Now mom is working on this thing called stacking.  It is what I'm supposed to do at the dog show in August.  Mom keeps saying that I might not be ready but I will fool her.    I am growing like really fast.  Somedays I eat 4 cups of food and other days I eat only 3 cups.  I like to play but only have to play in the morning and early evening.  The rest of the time I am fine with chewing on my toys, chew sticks or just relaxing.  Rags and I get along great.  He is a fun brother and lets me bite on him and take his toys.  But then every once in awhile, he gets tired and growls at me.  I know that means I've gone toooo far.  Well I really just want to have FUN!!!
