Callin' All Pups!
I am Nilla, a superquick, fun lovin', ball stealin' gal.  I'm here to see what all of you are getting into. That way, I'll never run out of ideas for tricks to play on my pal Brownie (and Mom and Dad) too!

about me

My Mom and Dad got me from the Humane Society. My original parents ran upon hard times and could no longer afford to feed me. They kept me in garage most of the time (which is why I really don't like small rooms still, but I'm getting better). Sometimes they would let me outside, but would tie me up to this round and bouncy thing that the people would get on and go way up in the air. It looked like fun, so when I run fast through the woods, I LOVE to jump really high over the fallen trees!
On the first day my parents brought me home, I backed up out of my collar and saw the chance to run.  I never had that chance before and boy, did it feel good!  I took off running although I heard my new Dad calling for me.  He called me and walked way back into the woods.  Mom came out and called for me too.  I just kept running!  Of course, I ran in a big circle and when they got back to their house, I was in the front yard!  Dad was scratched from head to toe and was covered in bug bites, and Mom was mad at Dad, but they were both so happy to see me anyway! They covered me with kisses and told me that I was getting a harness.
I really love them now, and when they call me, I come running!

Another uneventful day for me. Mom and Dad were gone most of the day. We only had a short running session, but I made that best of it. I have to tell my special friends thank you for the gifts. I have new collars, bones, houses, bouncy balls and hearts. Why don't they have beer gifts? :-)

    hey Nilla, dont worry, those werent sad memories for my mom, she remembers that day as a great one : realizing how happy i was to get my freedom back ! i live in Brussels, that's in Belgium (europe). i spend my days, while my mom's at her office, with 3 other labs, at my mom's aunt's place, and one of them is your age, BOY he has so much energy that i just cant stop running & playing & jumping all day long, so on evenings i'm exhauuuuuusted ! pupps like you really keep us going. first snow day was yesterday, i got so excited i went to walk on the little lake of the garden, but the ice wasnt hard enough yet....you know what happened next... i fell in the ice cold water...brrrrr

    hi Nilla ! my mom really got emotionnal when she read your story, cause we have a lot in common. My mom also rescued me from a shelter. The first day i spent with her, we went at some friends to have lunch on a terrasse, it was a sunny day. My mom was keeping me on the leach, she was too afraid i would run away and get lost. But my mom's friends insisted on the fact that i needed to walk around. So my mom put the leash away. Immediately, i did the same as you did : i ran, ran, ran, the fastest i could, BOY it was an amazing moment : i spent 6 months in that shelter, and forgot how it felt to run & be free !! but my mom didnt understand, she really panicked when she saw me running this fast !! she thought i was running away from her.... a few minutes later, she was still yelling my name, trying to make me come back, then she realized that i was in fact running in huge circles...she realized i had no intention of leaving, i was just enjoying my freedom. i think for my mom, too, it was one very special day... lots of love !! xxx
