Chopper's story began in the farmlands of Tennessee. He was born in a cage, along with his one brother, and one sister; and they remained in that cage for approximately the first three months of their lives. A very sad and tragic start to life, these pups had absolutely no human contact and were extremely malnourished. Chopper, the runt of the litter, had suffered the worst. He looked as if he had barely been fed a day in his life. He had a severe case of fleas and mange. And he also suffered from round worm, hook worm, and tape worm. He was the sickest lil pup ever!
As fate would have it, these pups were eventually dropped off on the door step of a kind hearted woman who felt the need to nurse these little one's back to health. In doing so, she found out about a no-kill shelter in Ohio and paid to have all three of them shipped up the following week.
That's how Chopper got to be where he is now. He is in the best place possible. He's down right spoiled, and that's exactly how he should be.
He's an amazing dog. And an even more amazing best friend.
He is the most intelligent dog on the face of the earth. He knows every trick in the book, including some pretty wacky ones that I have made up along the way.
He is friendly, yet still has enough loyalty in him to watch out of the front window constantly and howl at passers-by, as if he thinks his coonhound bark will actually scare people away.
He is the sweetest dog and as an owner, I couldn't ask for anything more! Except maybe another coonhound so that Chopper can have someone to play with!
Sooo you want to know about me huh?
Well, I'm almost 2 years old.
I'm 21inches tall and I weigh 40lbs.
I'm tri-colored, and I have perfectly straight, white teeth. :-D
I LOVE sleep. It's my favorite thing to do. I have an entire couch to myself, pillow and blanet included.
My mom makes sure there is a little "doggy bed" for me in a few of the other rooms in the house, but those just don't work as well as the whole couch!
Other then that, I have a huge toy box filled with some pretty cool toys. My mom even taught me how to put them away when they're all laying in the middle of the floor. What can I say, I'm just a pretty smart dog.
