about meMy name is Roscoe and I'm a coonhound/beagle mix. I live in Powell, TN with my family and my two furry friends, Betsy and Peanut. All three of us are rescue dogs. Betsy was adopted several years ago from a no-kill shelter, and Peanut was rescued about the end of June of this year from wandering on the street. Peanut only has 3 legs, but he gets around very well for a little guy! And me? Well, I was rescued more than 10 years ago while I was wandering on the street with a group of other stray dogs. Since I was just a couple of months old and didn't have any "street smarts," the other strays didn't want me around. But then I saw a house that looked very welcoming to me and met a very nice family who took me in and gave me a wonderful home! I guess there are advantages to being little and cute. But I'm not as young as I was, although I am still cute! Now I'm almost 11 years old (we just say that my birthday is in January, because we don't know exactly when it is), and I spend most of my time sleeping and hoping that someone will feed me. I mean, 3 meals a day just isn't enough to feed a hungry dog, you know what I mean?! My boy Shane calls me his old fart, but I'm not that old!! I mean, I'm only like 75 or so in people years!! OK, so maybe I do poke around outside more than I used to, and maybe I do take longer to get out of bed, but I'm still young at heart. My boy calls me Hunky Dory (whatever that means; maybe it's 'cause I just act carefree and happy) and Lumpy because I have those little fatty lumps that the vet calls old dog warts. It's just one of those things that old dogs like me get, I guess. The vet says I'm very healthy for an old dog. Yay me! I still like to play sometimes and do my tricks for cookies and hang out with my kids. I like going to the vet too, because even though they give me shots and feel me all over, they give me free cookies. Woohoo!! Plus, there's lots of cool smells there, too. One time a long time ago, my family entered me in an amateur dog show at the Sevier County Fair, and I won 1st place in the Mixed Breed category! Well, there were only 3 dogs in my group including me, but I think I did quite well for myself. They gave me some treats and chewies and a blue ribbon and stuff, but seriously, I've never heard of a dog eating a ribbon (though I suppose one could if he really wanted to)! Well, I guess I better go - I'm feeling this incredible urge to take a nap. Don't forget to check out my video of chow time at my house. I've also got some cute pictures. On some doggies' profiles and journals, I have seem them use direct links to YouTube or another website. How do you edit the URL so it is a direct link? I can include the URL in a journal or whatever, but I'm not sure how to fix it so you can click directly on it instead of having to open a new tab and copy/past the URL into the web finder. We too thought that this is the better solution for us. To set it up: 1.) go to a dog you want to send a gift, and click on one of the paid gifts. 2.) A window will pop up that says you need to open an account first. Do that. 3.) As soon as you have your CC on file, you will be re-directed to the option to buy credits. I think the lowest are 200 or 500, then 1,000, etc. you will see the various options. As soon as you have chosen your credits, you can then go back an start "gifting" :). This is a little trick, because if you do it the other way around, by using "upgrade your account" you will become a member with monthly fees. We bought them about a week ago and they expire mid April. So that's a reasonable amount of time to use them up. We have been very generous and still there are about 600 left.

I wouldn't say scared....I think the right word would be cautious....yeah..that's it! I like to sniff the peoples, but just when they think they're going to pet me, I take off running! It's a fun game I play! I think the only thing I'm totally scared of is those really tiny peoples (I heard my mom call them babies or something) those darn things freak me out, I stay as far away as possible! Have a barktastic week!
