The verdict is in!  I AM the BEST doGG in the world!  :)  Can I have a treat now?

Spyder , our awesome black lab mix, recently passed away due to evil tumors and cancer.  

Spydey was born August 15th, 1997 - we adopted him from a local animal shelter.....and we lost him on January 28th, 2008.  He was a young 10 years old.  He had many nick-names including Spydey, Number One Dog, Vinnie, Vinnie Bobarino, Good Boy, Buddy, Spyke and Big Mean Dog because he is the kindest, gentlest dog you will ever meet.

He had a long, wonderful, happy, loving life.  He blew his ACL in 2003 and had surgery to reapair it- he loved his hydratherapy with Carrie.  She was very good to him!  He had the best care at Alameda East in Denver, CO.  

He had a tumor in his abdomen, one near his hear and his lungs were riddled with cancer.   Thing is- he never ever let us know he was in pain- he smiled and was as happy as can be right up until the moment he passed away.     He is such a brave guy!

Some say it is because he didn't want us to be sad and hurt.   We are completely devastated and heart-broken.

This was the saddest day of our lives.  He was our number one dog and best friend.  There's not a day that goes by that we don't miss our boy-  we cry a lot and just think it was unfair that he had to leave us.    Everyone he met loved him and he loved everyone.  He was very gentle with kids especially.  Spyer was a great protector- would bark when someone came to the door but as soon as they came inside he would lick them and beg for tummy rubs!  Spydey loved to go on car rides!  He rode shotgun.  Spyder loved getting his tummy rubbed and when you would stop he would look up at you like "hey don't stop!"   He loved watching TV and lying on the floor watching the fish and frogs play in their aquariums!   The last movie he watched was the new "Charlotte's Web"- he watched it from beginning to end- I think he was in love with Wilbur!!  Spyder was super smart and loving.  He spooned with his humans and kept our feet warm at night.  He talked to us in sort of a doggy voice and knew many commands.  Spydey always layed in the kitchen with his mom human when she washed dishes or cooked.  He loved being close to his humans all the time.  He lived to please his humans.  Spydey was very motivated by food- he would do anything for a treat or an extra kibble!  Spyder learned at a very young puppy age to not beg for food.  When his humans were eating he would look at us then very quickly look away- it was the cutest thing!  His sister Shadow does the same thing and their little brother is learning, slowly!  When we first got our little doggy Libby, Spyder became "fatherly" to him-  he would take food out of his own bowl and put it on the floor for Libby.  Isn't that super sweet?   Something else very considerate that Spyder would do is when it was time to go outside, he would go to the door but let his sister Shadow go first, then Liibby then himself.  He was always so thoughtful!

We spoil our dogs because they are our kids.  We love them so much and they give back so much!  A home without a dog is not complete.

Thanks for loving us so much Spyder!  We miss you guy!

Spyder left behind a beautiful sister named Shadow, a 10 year-old border collie/ chow mix who is alive and well and also a little brother- 3 year-old Libby, a manchester terrier/ chihuahua mix who is very alive and crazy.   We all miss Spyder every single day.  Spyder is a gem!   We created a flower garden in our backyard in memory of our dear Spyder as he loved smelling flowers and even licking some on occasion.  

Thank you to everyone for all of your kind words of support and encouragement!  It me ans a lot to us.  This has been so difficult and heart-breaking for us- we just want our Spydey back...
