about me

I'm Wunjo Frostshadow Frekison. My first name is pronounced "Woon- yo", and I was born on April 2nd. I love to make new friends, so please come and bark with me. I promise to get back to you when I've returned from my latest trek! I have an outgoing yet rather intense personality, and I'm a serious hiker who loves traveling and enjoying nature. As I've matured, I've become a bit reserved toward strange people, but I love all dogs and always greet my fellow canines with an exuberant invitation to play. This is a video of me and Buster playing at a little campground dog park.

If you were wondering, I'm a Norwegian elkhound, or a "Moosedog" as we sometimes are called. We are also known as the Dog of the Vikings, and we are still the National Dog of Norway! We elkhounds have helped people as vigilant watchdogs, reindeer herders, flock guardians, and sled dogs... but most of all, we have always been hunting dogs. We especially love to hunt moose, hence our name, the "Elghund". Elg = moose and hund = dog in Norwegian.

My ancestors have been show dogs for generations, but I chose a different occupation. I'm an Adventure Dog, and I enjoy many "expeditions" into the wild. I'm an avid camper, and I always go on vacation with my family. I've traveled through 11 states on trips to coastal Virginia (Sandbridge area), the New York Adirondacks, southern Georgia, and the moutains of West Virginia. I absolutely love hiking and camping, and also dog parks, where I can make new friends! My favorite everyday activities are going on walks (anywhere, city or wilderness, it doesn't matter) and playing chase games with other dogs.

Here's my newest dog beach video, filmed at PawFest! The 2nd half of the video is a lot better than the first half. I can't get this one to upload to Doggyspace either, so here it is. Good times!

Happy Howlidays- And Thanks To JuJu for Being My Secret Paw!

Hey pups! I'm having a great winter and hope you are as well (at least, those of you for whom it is winter, and who happen to be snow dogs)! BOL! I just found out who my Secret Paw is! I received some gifts with her picture on them- a mug and a Christmas card. Her name is JuJu. Wow, what a surprise! Miss JuJu, I don't think I've barked with you before. Have I? So this is such a surprise
