blurbHi, my name is Deuce. I am a full-blooded Husky. In December of last year my former owner took me to the local shelter and dropped me off. I had been with them for four years. I am still not sure what I did wrong. Well, I knew Christmas was coming so I kept asking Santa Paws for a new family. Christmas came and went and no family. Then on December 26th a family came in. First this lady came by and looked at me. She called to someone else and then this other lady came and looked at me. She knelt by my cage and put her hand in. I leaned against the cage and put my paw out. She asked the lady who takes care of me here if they would take me out to be looked at. I tried to put on my best manners. This lady had a man with her and two human children as well as the other lady. We all went to the stairs together to sit. I tried to use my best manners but after a while I was taken back to my cage. I thought I had blown it! But the next day the man came back and the first lady and they had another dog with them. Her name was Rosie. It looked like we were supposed to meet. Again, I put on my best manners and the next thing I know I am in the van heading to my new home. I know there is a Santa Paws because he heard my prayers and gave me a new home. And my new mom says this house has a "no return policy." I will never leave until it is time for me to cross the Rainbow Bridge. (Oh, the other lady is my new aunt, Jean. She told my new mom that if she hadn't taken me, that she would have.)
about meMy name is Deuce and I am a 7 year old Husky. My birthday is September 24, 2002. I am a handsome fellow (at least that is what Mom always tells me). Rosie is my new sister (and boss!). There are also two human children and a cat, but he never comes upstairs. I love it here and hope and pray that I will never have to leave. I do have some things that I do that drives mom crazy. I love to go through the trash and find things that I can store for later. Mom and Dad are always raiding my stash. They just won't let me keep my things (they call it junk) under their bed.

I am in deep trouble, AGAIN!! I can't help myself. If I see something I will take it. It is the Husky way. Here is the story. Mama had to take away my Kibbles and Bits because the doggy doctor said I could not get any bigger. She put me on this low fat dog food and I HATE it! Now when Rosie went to the doggy doctor she lost 4 pounds. Mama was very happy about that. Anyway she bought Rosie...

Thanks for being my friend. I am glad to find you found a new home. I am a shelter dog too. We go back to visit all the time, where I get free pedicure. Don't feel too bad about your former family - sometimes things happen and they may have felt bad about loosing you too. At least they took you to the shelter where they knew you would find a new loving forever home. And you did. Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hey it sounds as though we are soul mates! I stash my "empties" (food packaging I have relieved of the food) under the laundry table. If you can eat it I'll get it. (Mom says that is because I was starved) I think we both agree diet dog food sucks! Let me know what you get next!

Hey Deuce! Nice to meet you and thanks for being my new buddy! You are gorgeous, looks like you and Rosie have a fantastic home. I let my mom read your story and it made her cry, she doesn't understand how people can have a dog and then give it up after so long (that's what happened with me). But good thing is we lucked out w/our new families!!! I'm so glad you got to have a great Christmas this year with your forever family!
