blurbAndy was adopted by my husband in August 2000. He was at a PetSmart and heard this thumping. He turned and there was this beautiful black and white Pointer. He was hooked. Andy was the boss of the house until Rosie came along. She put him in his place the first night we had her home. He tried to sniff her food bowl and she tore into him. He looked at us like we had brought home a demon dog to his house. Eventually they learned to love one another. And on October 16, 2008 when he died due to canine cardiomyopathy she grieved. We actually took her to the vet and he told us that dogs can go into depression too. Andy left a hole in our heart that will not be filled. The same thing will happen when Rosie crosses and when Deuce crosses. When that happens we will find other shelter dogs to love as much as we have loved those that have gone before. Isn't it amazing how God made it possible for our hearts to just keep expanding to take in more of his creatures?
about meHi, my name is Andy. I live at the Rainbow Bridge now. I am just waiting for the rest of my family, but enjoying myself as I wait. I miss my family but I am glad they have given another shelter dog a chance at a good life. Deuce is one lucky dog! My daddy gave me a chance all those years ago and I was always grateful for it. I love all of you and tell everyone I am happy and free and just waiting for everyone to join me. I wish more people would adopt shelter dogs. I was dumped because while I may look like a good sport dog I'm not one. I have a beautiful point, but don't shoot any guns around me because they scare me. So someone dumped me, someone else found me and took me to a no-kill shelter. Thank God for no-kill shelters. I was only 8 months old. What a beginning for a dog. But then Daddy came into that PetSmart. Boy, I recognized him the moment I saw him. I just quietly waited until he got close enough to hear and then I started wagging my tail. A few months after I joined Daddy, he brought a lady home. I wasn't sure about her at first, but she kind of grew on me. Then they brought a cat home. (I could have done without him!) Daddy and that lady got married in May of 2002 and then in November of that year they brought home Rosie. She was okay when I first met her at the PetSmart, but once they brought her home, she became a she-devil. She thought she was the boss. I let her believe that because it made her feel good. I hope Deuce and Rosie continue to take care of the family. One thing I would never allow was anyone coming in and hurting my family. I was a good watchdog. No one ever came around while I was on duty. Well I am going to go play for awhile, but I will check in now and then and say hi to everyone. Take care and God bless everyone - dogs and humans.

I want to thank all of my doggy friends for the many gifts and wishes for my birthday. I loved my birthday but I still miss my mom and dad. I know that they were sad today. Thanks for the friendship. My husky brother and sister, Taz and Wiley, are angels at the Rainbow Bridge. You'll have to go play with them. They love to play in the angel snow and make snow angels. You are a very handsome guy. Blessings to your family for giving you such a great home.
Hey Andy, we will have loads of fun since we can run when ever we want to now. I had a tumor on my femur so I was not able to really run for a while and now I'm taking advantage of running!! I'll meet you in the meadow and we can just run around.
