blurbMy old owner had me chained up for 5 years. then i got heartworm and was sick so he took me to the pound. it was the end of the line. I was old, and sick and one big red mat. i never had a bath or a brush or anything. i had no manners. i jumped up on everyone cause i got so excited that maybe I would get some attention, but other than putting food and water in the bowl no one even paid me attention. I was so big I took up a whole run. that is not a good thing in the pound when it is so crowded. It make you a liability to use a run all by yourself......sigh.
about meWell now I am known as KHAN , a king of the wilderness. I am decended from herding dogs of Russia and Turkey. we can be very ferocious, but I am mainly a couch potato. I am usually conserving energy. I am clean and beautiful and magnificant now. Not always so. I spent my life on a chain on a farm, out in all weather. It is all I knew. When my owners sold the farm and moved to a development, he chained me outside. I howled and the neighbors complained and he took me to the pound, just like that. Turns out it was a good thing cause now i live indoors and sleep in mommas bed. She has 6 dogs with me, and i should count for at least 3. Brandon, Puppy and Wishbone are my family, and the Dude and annie are just staying here till they find their forever home. I might be moving to Atlanta if this nice lady adopts me, but mom is having a hard time letting me go. I was high heartworm positive so mom had that taken care of. I had to rest a lot to get over it. that was a month ago and now I feel pretty good. In a while when I am even better I will get neutered cause mom says I am carrying around melons, whatever that means. She decided to put me on doggyspace so I could make some new friends, and promote rescue dogs as well. she says you can find wonderful dogs like me, and many of you, in the local pound. sometimes we will need a little work to become the perfect dog, but we are worth it. so everyone please make friends, just like you did with puppy brandon wishbone .

gee wiz guys. are we now the talking place for farm animal slaughters? there were 31 people who made friends with a dead pig, sooned to be joined by his new brother or sister. of course his mom loved him best....glad she didnt love me. this is a step over the line. KHAN

Kahn, I just find it hard to believe that you were treated so mean when you were younger. You have such a loving face and you aren't old my friend. You are just a pup compared to me.
