I'm a 6 year old retired racing greyhound from Kansas. I weigh 85 lbs so I'm on the larger side of Greyhounds. I only ran 2 races in my racing days because of a broken back leg (and to think I could have been a champ like my greyhound mom & dad (3rd and 5th place in 2 runs)). I lived at the track for 2 and a half years until I adopted my wonderful family with 2 children in NJ in September of 2007. So now I don't have to stay in my crate and I sleep on mommy's & daddy's bed whenever I can. I love my forever family and best of all - "They love me." :) My favorite past time is sleeping, sleeping, sleeping (mom and dad's bed "ROCKS") with a occasional bunny chase around the back yard every now and then. Adopt a Greyhound: Don’t look at the color of my fur or the sex that I may be,
Look deep into my soul to see the real me.
Don’t look at my age and think that I am too young or too old,
I will still need a warm comfy bed when I come in from the cold.
Try to look past how long I’ve been waiting here,
Look past my shyness and help me get over my fear.
I just need a chance to find the love of a family,
That will look past my scares or gray and just hug me.
I just know that my forever family are on their way,
That because of them I will have my own Gotcha Day.
So hurry up family please don’t make me wait,
To be your family pet is what I want, it is my fate.

Yesterday, I ran out the front door without my leash as my mom, dad and Twilight were coming in. I ran to mom's van but she didn't come over to take me for a ride, so I ran back to my mom. I wasn't going to run away (really), I just wanted to streach my legs and run around a little. I didn't get in trouble because they love me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hi Arcadia and Twilight, How are you? Mom was so busy this summer she couldn't take a vacation so she decided we would take a virtual vacation here on doggyspace. We want to go to as many places as we can. Mom said she thinks we can travel 200 thousand miles this summer. I think she's nuts but I'm up for her game. Mom would like to know where in New Jersey you live so she can put down how many miles we traveled to see you. Bol...yes now I know she's nuts. I have brought a ball so we can play a little bit and if you don't mind please tell mom one thing she can do while we are there

Hi Arcadia, just thinking of you and hoping you're staying warm! I am doing my best, but an *really* *tired* of snow and cold!!! It can only get better! Mom and I are going to the Greyhound Adoption Expo in Mass. and Grapehounds in the Finger Lakes, NY again this year...it's so much fun to get with my other Greyhounds! Hope you and your family are well, sweet Arcadia...Love, Willow

Hi I wrestled control of the computer from the girls to ask, would you go to page 5 on www.chocolicktreats.com and vote for Geena and I? Would ya, would ya,pretty please? And if I have already asked your family, please excuse us, mommy's eyes are crossing...

love your poem. My mom came into the Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option agency with her mom to adopt my sister when we met. She wasn't planning on taking me home, since she already had two cats and a Scotty already. She felt like it was way too crowded anyway, plus she was fixing to move. When I saw her I knew she was destined to be my human. She spoke to at least 6 other greyhounds that day, but kept coming back to me. Puppy-Dog eyes get 'em every time. She just loves me to cuddle and snuggle every chance I get. She's a first grade teacher, which means she needs me to de-stress each day. We read the poem and felt like it was so appropriate! Would it be okay to publish it on my page also to get the word out? She said she'd give you the credit for having it first. :)

Hi Arcadia, you remind me of my big brother Johnny. He stayed in California when we moved but he visits us sometimes. See you around! Yours, Ben

Hee hee hee Arcadia, you cutie! Thank you for your sweet comment on my racing video. My Mom found lots of videos of me online by accident one day by doing a Google search of my racing name...what a happy surprise it was! Your fast woman friend, Willow :)

Hi Arcadia! Thanks for adding Sadie Luna and me. My mommys mommy has a Greyhound. His name is Cairo. She also has a Whippet named Kismet an Italian greyhound named grace and a Saluki named Rajah! Her greyhound was never in races though. Lucky for him he never had to be rescued, so my grandma got him from when he was a puppy. Now he's a big goof with tons of energy!
